Equine Sports Massage is the therapeutic application of
sports massage techniques applied to the horse.

    The aims of Equine Sports Massage are:
  • To enhance muscle tone and range of motion
  • Improve the health of the horses prevention/recovery from injury
  • Maintain stable state within the body
  • Achieve a state of relaxation
  • Promotes healing process by increasing the flow of nutrients to the muscles and aiding in carrying away excessive fluids and toxins
  • Prepare the body for activity
  • Improve coordination and stride length

All horses benefit from sports massage from your family pet
to your advanced competition horse. Equine massage is NOT
a substitute for proper Veterinary care or act as a
diagnostic tool. Your Vet will be contacted by Catriona
prior to any session.

 
    A typical session includes:
  • A thorough history of the horses
  • Assessment – ridden/lunged/trotted up as appropriate
  • Massage
  • Stretching
  • Advisory
A typical session lasts approximately 1-2 hours
